Premier Sailing Club on Lake Simcoe

The Lagoon City Yacht Club is a member-run yacht club located in a sheltered lagoon, a short canal ride from Lake Simcoe. We offer moorings, activities, and community for our members, most of whom own a sailboat or powerboat. The object of the Club is to promote and encourage boating and sailing on Lake Simcoe, while emphasizing racing, cruising, socializing and education, without financial gain. The club was founded in 1964 and celebrated its 55th anniversary in 2019. Contact us to find out how you can become a member of one of the premier sailing clubs on Lake Simcoe.

Club News

Slips available for 2026!

Sailboat Slips and Club Membership available on Lake Simcoe!

Lagoon City Yacht Club has some slips for use this year. We can accommodate boats up to 32 feet and a 5-foot draft. We would like to see that all sailors who wish to be out on the water have that opportunity.

Our club is quite small, with 28 slips. Every slip has access to the land and a narrow side tie dock of about 25 feet. Our clubhouse has a beautiful kitchen and newly renovated washrooms. All of our members know each other and extend assistance for many different circumstances - advice, sailing tips, and help with repairs.

We have an active social calendar, and casual racing takes place on Fridays, followed by a burger and beer supper. During your 10 hours of required membership work hours, you will be integrated into the social fabric of the club.

In addition to the club's amenities, we have access to a beautiful sand beach within walking distance. There are several restaurants in the immediate area, and of course, Orillia is just a 20-minute drive away.

Our fees are reasonable:

Slip fee: $1,365

Annual senior membership fee: $465

More details at https://www.lcyc.com/join-us

Many of our members store their boats for the winter at the local marina within walking distance of the club. We would welcome any inquiries from sailors. Please contact our membership chair at membership@lcyc.com

New Club Regulation

Members and their families are welcome to use dishes provided for members and their families. Guests are to use disposable dishes (provided by the club) or bring their own dishes.

This includes cups, dishes, cutlery. All social events, members will be responsible for cleaning up their dishes and table and putting them in the dishwasher and ensuring their guests are assisted to do the same.

Reciprocal Privileges

On behalf of our Commodore and the Flag Officers of CFB Trenton Yacht Club, I am pleased to extend reciprocal privileges to the members of your club for the 2025 boating season. The attached letter and card will provide the necessary details.

We look forward to visiting with you this summer.

Successful Dock Work Party

March 6 saw a keen group of 12 sailors led by Larry congregate at the Club for a work party to refurbish our docks. Punky boards were marked and then the removal began with pry bars & hammers being wielded to remove the deck boards, the side boards and the rubber bumper rail....

2026 Pat Your Boat Day

Although the number of members who participated in this event was small, the enthusiasm for renewed camaraderie and boating was large. e were treated to a delicious and sustaining meal at the newly opened restaurant "Phil and Rosie's Cafe" directly across from LCYC. And to top it off, many of us are looking forward to the delicious homemade soup and baked goods this summer. Our sailing friend will be delighted to be able to easily walk to the closest restaurant to enjoy an excellent selection. READ MORE ....

LCYC Sailpast Memories...

Excitement was in the air on Saturday as we gathered on the grounds to prepare for our first Sailpast in 2 years to honour our Commodores. Boats were dressed for the occasion and at 2 p.m. they left the dock to follow Commodore Doug Hunt in Private Dancer out the channel to the Lake.
