The Lagoon City Yacht Club is a member-run yacht club located in a sheltered lagoon, a short canal ride from Lake Simcoe. We offer moorings, activities, and community for our members, most of whom own a sailboat or powerboat. The object of the Club is to promote and encourage boating and sailing on Lake Simcoe, while emphasizing racing, cruising, socializing and education, without financial gain. The club was founded in 1964 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014. LCYC has a robust junior sailing program that is also open to non-member youth. MORE>>
The Lagoon City Yacht Club is open to both residents and non-residents of Lagoon City and offers both “Senior” and “Social” family memberships. There are no additional fees for spouses and dependent children. Our mission is to promote yachting, seamanship and fellowship among members. The clubhouse and grounds boast safe, clean and environmentally friendly facilities. Our fees are amongst the best you will find in southern Ontario! So have your family join our family, join our club, welcome aboard!
Membership and slips are available for the 2015 season. For more information please contact Sue Ferguson at;
Junior Sail Program 2016
July 18th to July 22nd
This is an ONTARIO SAILING MOBILE BOOM SAILING PROGRAM with instruction and certification open for beginners to the experienced. The instructors are ONTARIO SAILING trained, and the boats are provided by ONTARIO SAILING. There are coach/ safety boats provided for additional instruction and safety.
The primary instruction area is on the beautiful south LAGOON CITY beach. In cases of bad weather the instruction goes in-board at the LAGOON CITY YACHT CLUB ( 84 Laguna Parkway) Many of our members and past students also come by to assist as needed.
You the parents/grandparents/guardians are welcome to come down to the beach to enjoy the beautiful days in July we are forecasting. The instructions go basically from 9 to 4. We are very fortunate in that the program is well supported by the community and this results in some special events and gifts for the students.
We have a limit of 32 participants and we fill them up every year, so get in your requests in as soon as you can (we are on a first come first served basis). Again, the program runs from July 18th to July 22nd, 2016.
The fee is $350 for the week (note: just covers LCYC out-of-pocket costs for boats rental, instructors, and supplies). Please contact Adam Kubik for more information and a registration form.

On Saturday February 27th twenty eight members of LCYC enjoyed the 2nd annual “Pat Your Boat” dinner at the Lakeside Harbour Inn Restaurnt. This year we tried a set menu with 2 choices and this made the service much quicker. Nevertheless the event lasted from 5:30 to 8:30 as people lingered on to converse with each other while dreaming of warmer weather. We were very grateful to have a new social member, Robert, join us for this event. He is very much looking forward to the sailing season and even mentioned that he was willing to crew for races. In the afternoon some of the sailors visited the yard to check in on their boats. The hard working executive had a meeting during the day to organize the events and the handbook for the next season. Bring on the spring!
